CODE is an International Design Conference organized by School of Fashion & Design at GD Goenka University. The conference will have talks by leading thinkers and masters in the field of design and sustainability.
This is the second edition of CODE themed: 3D Printing and Rapid Manufacturing. It aims at bringing together experts to discuss the technology, scope, present and the future of 3D Printing and Rapid Manufacturing. The conference also welcomes discussion on evolution of design and sustainability in design.

G.D. Goenka University (GDGU) has emerged as a leading university in Delhi NCR, imparting high quality professional educational programs of international standards and offers courses in Communication, Engineering, Fashion & Design, Hospitality, Humanities & Social Sciences, Architecture & Planning, Law and Management.
Located in Sohna (Gurgaon), the campus of GD Goenka University is known for its best of facilities and equipment including laboratories, learning facilities and high quality IT infrastructure.
The School of Fashion and Design (SoFD) was established in 2013 in strategic collaboration with Politecnico di Milano (PDM Milan, Italy). It offers industry oriented full time design education programs in Product Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Communication Design.
The academic partnership with PDM ensures an unmatched international exposure to the students. There are regular visits of expert Politecnico faculty to the SoFD campus each semester for conducting workshops, as well as visit of SoFD students to Milan to the PDM campus and participating in workshops and exchange programs with the Politecnico di Milano campus in Milan (Italy).

The call for abstracts for the papers is open.
A panel of jury members will judge the entries for posters based on the theme of the conference. The selected entries will be published and displayed in an exhibition during the event.
Our Industry Partners will also award the three best entries.

Calling all designers to experiment and innovate and expand the boundaries of 3D Printing and Sustainability in Design. Code 2017 is providing a platform to all the young thinkers to showcase their talent to the experts in the industry.

Traditional Crafts and New Technologies Plymouth College of Art is committed to maintaining traditional craft making skills alongside the innovative use of new technologies.
Recently the College has invested £8million in state of the art workshops for textiles, metals, wood, ceramics and glass. As part of this development the College also created one of the first FabLabs in the UK, providing opportunities for students and businesses to use a wide range of new digital manufacturing processes.
Interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary practice together with the mix of traditional and new technologies to support design and make has created a unique creative learning environment. The challenge is to ensure students are able to develop as much confidence and agency in all elements of the making journey, able to subvert and invent processes, as much as develop new products.
Shantanu has done his Btech in IT (information technology). He wants to make a difference in the current education sector by integrating technology with the existing classroom learning experience to enhance real time learning. He has a vision of an educated world rather than a learned one where people understand the true nature of knowledge. He has worked with various social, non profit organizations to understand the current education scenario and on the other side has had the corporate experience of running a company and what it takes to build one. He has always keen to learn and understand new innovations to create a better world.
3D Printing is a process of creating solid physical objects from solid, physical models from CAD designs. The students will be introduced to different aspects of 3D Printing mainly the Computer Aided Design, Slicing, 3D Printing of objects and hands on experience on different kind of technologies that are used in 3D Printing that are the 3D Scanner and 3D pens.
